We make change sustainable
Research in the social sciences is necessary in order to resolve and deal with major contemporary problems pertaining to issues such as the environment, health, war and poverty.
Within the Faculty of Social Sciences we conduct research and deliver education in all aspects of society; everything from the individual’s psychological development processes to large, complex organisational forms. The faculty’s educational remit is the most comprehensive within the University of Gothenburg and our programmes maintain a high level of quality.
Honorary doctor
EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmström is a former student and teacher at the Faculty of Social Sciences. In October 2011 she was awarded honorary doctor.
